Synonyms:
= Ficus microcarpa, Linn. = F.nitida, auctt. = F.retusa,
auctt. = F.retusa, auctt. non Linn. = F.retusa var. Nitida auctt. non verae.
Family:
Moraceae
Description:
Banyan are found at the edge of the road, or growing suburb
on the edge of the abyss. A large tree, height 20-25 m, rooted riding. Stem
erect, round, rough surface, blackish brown, branching simpodial, the rod
hanging out the roots (aerial roots). Leaves single, short-stemmed, lies the
cross face, oval shape, flat edge, pointed tip, base turnpul, length 3-6 cm,
width 2-4 cm, pertulangan pinnate, green. Single flower, out of the armpit
leaves, petals form a funnel, crown rounded, smooth, yellow-green. Buni fruit,
round, length 0.5 to 1 cm, young green, after the old red. Seeds round, hard,
white.

Curable Disease:
Runny nose, high fever, inflammation of the tonsils

inflammation of the airways (bronchitis), whooping cough (pertussis), malaria,
acute colitis (acute enteritis); Dysentery, hot seizures in children.;
Utilization:
PART USED:
Aerial roots and leaves. Washed and dried before use.
INDICATION:
This aerial roots to overcome:
- Runny nose, high fever,
- Inflammation of the tonsils (tonsillitis),
- Pain in arthritic joints, and
- Cuts hit (bruise).
The leaves are useful to overcome:
- Influenza,
- Inflammation of the airways (bronchitis), whooping cough
(pertussis),
- Malaria,
- Acute intestinal inflammation (acute enteritis),
dysentery, and
- Heat cramps in children.
HOW TO USE:
The roots of the banyan air dry as much as 15-30 g or dried
banyan leaves as much as 50-120 g of boiling water, then drink. For external
use, banyan leaf and boiled water used for bathing while warm.
EXAMPLE OF USE:
1. Hot Seizures in children:
Take 100 g of fresh fig leaves,
washed and boiled with water 5 Lt
for 25 rnenit. While warm boiled

bathing the sick child.
2. Severe gastroenteritis and dysentery
Take a fresh fig leaf of 500 g. Then
washed
then boiled in 3 cups of water until

3. Tonsillitis
Take the aerial roots of the banyan
as much as 180 g, washed and cut into
pieces as needed. Boil 3 cups of

times a day.
4. Chronic Bronchitis
Take 75 g of fresh fig leaves and
mandarin orange peel 18 g, washed
then boiled in 3 cups of water until
remaining 1 glass. After

3 times drinking, ie morning, noon, and
night. Do it for 10 days.
Composition:
