(Lagerstroemia indicct L.)

Family:
lythraceae.
Description:
Typically, small Bungur grown as an ornamental plant in the
garden and in the home page or can be found as a wild plant on the edge of the
cliffs and forest. These plants originated from China and Korea. Shrubs or
small trees, 2-7 m tall, arching branches, tree brown, smooth and somewhat
shiny. Leaves single, short-stemmed, alternate location. Leaf blade elliptic or
elongated shape, blunt tip, base wedge, flat edge, dark green, 2-7 cm long, 1-4
cm wide. Compound interest form panicle, 10-50 cm long, wavy edge petals, red,
white, or purple, out of the end of the stem or axillary panicles. The fruit is
slightly rounded, 9-13 mm long, 8-11 mm wide. Small Bungur can be propagated by
seed.
Local Name:
NAME OF Bungur Japan. FOREIGN NAME Zi wei hua, tzu hui (C),
crape myrtle (I). NAME Simplisia Lagerstroemiae indicae Radix (roots of small
Lagerstroemia), Lagerstro miae indicae Flos (Lagerstroemia small flowers).
Curable Disease:
Root feels a bit bitter, neutral nature, astringent.
Efficacy small Bungur root is stimulating the circulation, stop bleeding
(hemostatis), anti-inflammatory, laxative urine (diuretic), and neutralize
toxins (detoksikan). Flowers, leaves, and bark efficacious as a laxative
(laxative).
Utilization:
PART USED
The part used is the roots, flowers, leaves, and bark. Wash

INDICATIONS
Lagerstroemia small roots are used for treatment: stop the
bleeding, such as coughing up blood, vomiting blood, dysentery, wounds
bleeding, bleeding after childbirth, inflammation of the liver (hepatitis),
jaundice (jaundice), abdominal edema (ascites), leg swelling (edema) ,
Tripterygium wilfordii poisoning, dysentery, abdominal pain after childbirth,
toothache, headache, and vaginal discharge.
HOW TO USE
For drugs taken, boiled 15-30 g root and drink boiled water.
For external use, boil the ingredients taste fresh, and the
water used to wash the body of the sick. In addition, the ground dry
ingredients to form a powder. Furthermore, Dab powder to the areas of pain,
such as broken bones (fractures), boils, sores, abscesses, eczema, and
inflammation of the breast (mastitis).
EXAMPLE USE IN THE COMMUNITY

Boil 30 g roots in 200 cc of water until the remaining 80
cc. Once cool, strain and filter drinking water, twice a day, each of 40 cc.
Dysentery
Boil 20 g of leaf or root in three cups of water until the
remaining half. Once cool, strain and filter drinking water, three times a day,
each 1/2 cup.
Acute dysentery, infectious hepatitis
Wash 15 g 15 g roots and leaves little Lagerstroemia, then
boiled in three cups of water until the remaining one cup. Once cool, strain
the water boiled and divided into two parts for two drinks, morning and
evening. Every time you drink 1/2 cup, plus honey to taste.
Ulcer, ulceration
Dry the roots or flowers Lagerstroemia sufficiently small,
then milled until smooth. Add white wine to taste to form a thick porridge,
then apply to the sick body and. wrapped with a bandage. For drugs taken,
boiled 30 g root in three cups of water until the remaining one cup. Once cool,
strain and filter drinking water, twice a day, each 1/2 cup.
Eczema
Wash the roots or leaves to taste until clean, then boiled
in water until boiling (for 15 minutes). In warm conditions, this herb can be
used to wash the affected body part eczema.
Note
Pregnant women are prohibited from taking this herb stew
because it can interfere with fetal development.
Composition:
Leaves contain decinine, decamine, lagerstroemine, lagerine,
dihydroverticillatine, and decodine. Roots contain sitosterol, 3,3
',4-tri-o-methylellagic acid.
